If you have need of a custom-made component with specific dimensional and/or operational requirements that is not exactly met by any of my current products, please contact me with the details of your project. I have a limited capacity for custom work and may be able to assist you with design and/or fabrication of a unique component.
Dale Fife of Idaho contacted Optical Supports in May 2010 seeking a mirror mounting solution for his 12.5" f/5 truss-newtonian build. The project called for a custom mirror cell with eight contact points for a secure installation into the truss-newt's mirror box, requiring a significant but appropriate departure from tube-oriented cell design. Dale requested hole patterns for four 80mm fans to expedite the cooling of his 12.5" full-thickenss primary mirror. The finished product features the same construction and high-quality hardware and materials used with all of my mirror cells.
